INNER GLOW CHANDELIER
INNER GLOW is a limited-edition designer chandelier that juxtaposes the classic blown glass and brass typical of KAIA chandeliers with a more organic material: paper.
Produced in Puglia, the paper selected is an evolution of the papier-mâché process and has a raw, textural quality to it that resembles stone. The paper appears to grow over the glass orbs, mirroring the slow ecological spread of moss and fungi.
The rough, organic paper stands in striking contrast to both the transparent, orb-like glass forms and the precise geometric lines of the brass structure. With such precarious and somewhat imperfect balance, Sophie Dries successfully reflects on the duality of the organic and geometric, the natural and artificial - the chandelier proposing the possibility of a quite, harmonious coexistence.
